E-waste (electronic waste) is one of the fastest-growing types of waste in our community. Here are some options to consider instead of sending e-waste to landfill:
Computers & Televisions
Please take to Bungendore or Braidwood Transfer Station or the ACT Resource Recovery Centre in Hume for free drop off
Gaming Devices
These can be valuable! Try selling them online, or find a store that deals in second hand games and gear.
DVD players, Stereos, iPods and Toys
If still usable you can give away, if not able to use, remove the batteries and place in the red bin or some stores will take them such as Office works
Mobile Phones
Drop off up to 15 old phones per visit at the Community Recycling Centre. or Council admin offices. You can also use the Mobile Muster program Many stores that sell phones will also take old phones for recycling.
Apple Products
Apple Giveback lets you trade in old devices to get an Apple store gift card. If your old Apple doesn't qualify for a trade-in, Apple will still recycle it for free.

Cameras
- Donate, sell or gift items where possible. Consider repairing items to extend their life before disposal, including donating items to organisations that repair items or use parts to make new products. Visit our reuse page for options.
- Donate items in good condition to Goodies Junction at:
- Contact a local business that specialises in recycling both working and non-working cameras, such as:
- Cameras and video recorders can be dropped off for free as part of the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme at:
- All batteries must be removed from cameras prior to disposal. Batteries can then be recycled through the B-cycle program.
