Report a Missed Collection

If we did not pick up your bin before 6pm on your collection day, you can report a missed bin collection. Please check the below reasons why your bin may not have been collected before submitting a missed collection form:    * Bin not out on time, bins need to be out the night before collection day as the trucks can come at different times. A fee may be imposed to return to collect a bin if it was found to not be out on time. * Contamination – bin tags indicate items in your bin that do not belong and must be removed - a fee may be charged to return to collect the bin * Too heavy – bins may be tagged if they exceed the maximum safe weight for trucks to empty * Obstruction – bins may not be collected if they are not accessible for pickup * Wrong collection day – you can check your bin collection days here [/#/calendar] * Over full – bins may not be collected if the lid is not closed due to over-filling, or due to animal incursion. * Non-Council bin – only Council-issued bins with a Council logo will be serviced. If you have a non-Council bin please contact 1300 735 025.  [tel:1300%20735%20025] What do I do if I have a sticker on my bin?  1. Remove contamination, and the bin will be collected on the next scheduled collection day. 2. Reduce the amount of waste in over-full or excessively heavy bins 3. Relocate obstructed bins to allow easy access for collection Advise Council on 1300 735 025 [tel:1300%20735%20025] if you have rectified the problem and wish to arrange collection before the next scheduled bin day.   A fee may be imposed for trucks returning to an address for collection where the above reasons are noted.    If none of the above reasons apply to your missed collection, you can report a missed collection by clicking the below link.  Report a missed collection online here. Request a New Bin Service

New Homes  You will require proof of an Occupation Certificate before bins are supplied to a new home.  A waste services charge will apply to the rates of that property address once the bin has been delivered. We can only change waste services at a property on the advice of the owner or managing real estate agent.  Existing homes  If you have recently purchased a property and the bins are missing, contact your solicitor as the bins should be present on settlement, and Council must charge for the replacement of the bins. You will need to fill out a Lost/ stolen form in this instance.  If you are new tenant and there are no bins are your residence, the landlord or managing agent is responsible for the cost of replacing the bins. You will need to fill out a Lost/ stolen form in this instance.  Landlords, agents and tenants should check that bins are present before final inspection. Secure them in a garage, shed or laundry until the next tenant arrives. Bins often ‘disappear’ between tenants and Council must charge for their replacement.  Rural properties Some areas of council do not have a roadside collection service due to distance or accessibility. You can still fill in a new bin service (rural) and we can advise if a service can be offered or not.   Commercial / Industrial properties  A commercial/industrial (or other non-residential) property may have Council waste, recycling and FOGO services if they wish to, but this is not mandatory. We supply a 240L kerbside bin service only, no larger bulk-style containers are available through Council.  A commercial property may have as many of each type of bin as they require. New bins or changes to existing services are charged per bin through that property’s rates, and must only be requested by the owner or managing agent.  Request a new bin service here.
