What does a Voucher Allow?

Council’s existing rules for Bulky Waste Services and disposal of waste at its facilities applies to voucher usage. Information on acceptable wastes is available on the QPRC Waste Info App and on Council’s website. The smaller transfer stations at Macs Reef, Nerriga and Captains Flat cannot accept bulky waste or mattresses but do accept general household waste to landfill. 

For urban residents:

Urban residents may access up to 2 vouchers instead of kerbside bulky waste collection services.

Each voucher allows free disposal of:

  • Up to 2 cubic metres of general waste. This does not include asbestos/ hazardous waste or other waste that is not permitted to be disposed of to landfill, such as liquids and tyres.
  • Plus (2) separate vouchers for Up to one (1) mattress per voucher (for recycling). 

Bulky waste must be disposed of at either Bungendore or Braidwood Waste Transfer Stations.

For rural residents:

Rural residents may access up to 16 vouchers. 

Each voucher allows free disposal of:

  • Up to the equivalent of one x 240L wheelie bin of household general waste (either in bins, containers or bags) at any QPRC Waste Transfer Station.

Or rural residents may combine up to 8 vouchers at a time to allow free disposal of 

  • Up to 2 cubic metres of general waste. This does not include asbestos / hazardous waste or other waste that is not permitted to be disposed of to landfill, such as liquids and tyres.
  • Plus (2) separate vouchers for Up to one (1) mattress per voucher (for recycling)
